Phonics for year one: Digraph /ee/ This is a phonic powerpoint that teaches one vowel digraph /ee/.  A synthetic phonic approach to teaching phonics us used.  The level of difficulty can be increases from simple words to more challenging words, if required. The words are also included in sentences which also assists students to understand the meaning of the word so they will be more likely to use the word in writing activities.

Students with a specific learning disability, or dyslexia, benefit from having an explicit method of instruction. This PowerPoint lesson is one way to teach phonics. The teacher needs to encourage students to say the sounds and blend the sounds to read the word.
