This can be a challenging topic to teach when educators do not wish to offend people from cultures different to their own. This PowerPoint lesson will assist you towards doing this in a gentle manner. If you do not live in Australia and are teaching countries and cultures from around the world, this is also perfect! If you are teaching younger age groups then show the PowerPoint and add your own verbal descriptions to allow students to understand the content in a simplified way. I have worded the concepts in a straight-forward manner, however feel free to adapt. If you are using this lesson in the early childhood years, just use the slides that you feel are appropriate. You may wish to discuss who the aboriginal people are and the description of family types.
